Anti-Aging Treatment
At Dormer Medical Spa we take a preventative and results-oriented approach to skin care. We incorporate our treatments as a way of life not as an “emergency treatment”. Skin care is often taken for granted until “whoops – what happened?”. What happens is the result of sun damage, loss of estrogen, collagen loss and just plain genetics. At Dormer Medical Spa we approach skin care with a two-pronged strategy: (1) Prevention; and (2) Treatment. Firstly, we design a program to prevent wrinkles, collagen loss and sun damage that lead to premature aging; Secondly, we provide procedures that treat existing signs of aging.

The general plan includes:

Retin-A – Don’t believe all the scary things about it – you can use this even if once a week. Retin-A is a true anti-aging cream which stimulates collagen and helps to diminish fine lines and wrinkles.
Peels/Exfoliaters - to increase the slow cell turnover as we age. Peels and exfoliaters also help to balance out oily and dry areas.
Light/Laser Treatments (Photo Rejuvenation) - cause injury to the skin which in turn, creates collagen. In addition to creating collagen, light therapy helps with the appearance of spots and veins and the turgor of the skin.
Sun Safety – Wear sunbock and sunglasses every single day, even in the winter! Use a sunblock of SPF 30 and reapply every 2 hours. There is no need for higher SPF since there is no added effect. Make sure the sun filters block both UVA and UVB rays and stay out of the sun from 10 am – 4 pm.
Avoid Smoking – The skin becomes sallow because of decreased blood flow from chemicals in cigarette smoke that constrict blood vessels.
